About Us

Our Approach

At RealWorldABA, we believe that effective, compassionate care must be flexible, family-centered, and easy to understand. While it's simple to write a lengthy intervention plan filled with technical jargon, real impact happens only when we actively teach, demonstrate, coach, and provide feedback—not just to the individual but to their entire family, support network, and community. Our goal is to empower everyone involved, fostering skills that will thrive in everyday situations and under real-life challenges.

Research shows that individuals learn best and retain skills longer when families are meaningfully engaged in the process. By involving family members and caregivers in creating opportunities for practice and growth, we ensure that new skills are not just taught but are genuinely integrated into the learner's life. We understand that it’s one thing to know what to do and another to apply it seamlessly, even when emotions are high or distractions arise. That’s why we’re here to support the entire circle of care every step of the way.

Our work at RealWorldABA is guided by three core values:
  • Anyone can learn! With the right approach, every individual has the capacity to grow and develop skills that enrich their lives.
  • Interventions should be fun, natural, and client-centered. Evidence-based practices can be engaging, enjoyable, and feel like a natural part of life.
  • nclusion and belonging matter. We see working with individuals with special needs as a privilege. Every person we support is a valued member of our community, and they deserve to feel a true sense of belonging.

These values drive our mission to create a supportive, inclusive environment that celebrates each learner's unique journey.

Our Process

At RealWorldABA, we believe in a thorough, personalized approach to ensure that each learner’s journey is both enjoyable and effective. Here’s what to expect when you request services with us:

  • Intake Assessment: We begin with an intake assessment to get to know you and your child better. This phase allows us to understand their strengths, interests, and your goals. Together, we explore what you hope to achieve, setting the foundation for a meaningful and impactful intervention plan.
  • Assessment Phase: Our assessments are two-fold. First, we identify strengths and challenges, exploring how to use those strengths to address areas of need. At the same time, we create an engaging, enjoyable assessment experience, ensuring that your child feels at ease and has fun while we gather valuable insights.
  • Report and Recommendations: Based on our findings, we develop a comprehensive report with tailored recommendations for services. We also prepare a cost proposal for your funder, ensuring transparency and alignment with your child’s needs.
  • Therapeutic Supports: Once approved, we build a dedicated team and provide specialized training based on your child’s unique needs. Our interventions are grounded in what brings your child joy, using these motivators to build targeted skills. Data-driven and progress-oriented, we provide updates every 1-2 months to keep you informed and involved.
  • Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration: We prioritize collaboration with your child’s multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent strategies and supports across all environments. Regular communication keeps everyone aligned, maximizing your child’s success at home, school, and in the community.

This step-by-step process allows us to create a tailored, supportive pathway for growth, ensuring your child’s unique strengths are celebrated and nurtured every step of the way.
